Silk Ling Shi began with a simple idea: silk should feel beautiful, honest, and thoughtfully made.
We are a New York City–based silk brand offering silk accessories, silk pillowcases, and selected silk fabrics. Most of our products are made in NYC, then sold and shipped from New York City.
Our work begins with the fabric. We look closely at the hand, weight, sheen, structure, and movement of silk before deciding what it should become. A silk headband, a scrunchie, a pillowcase, or a small accessory should not only look pretty. It should respect the material.
The name Silk Ling Shi is inspired by Xi Lingshi, also written as Xi Ling Shi, the legendary figure associated with the discovery of silk. For us, the name is not used as imitation. It is a quiet tribute to the origin story of silk and to the long human history behind this extraordinary fiber.
Silk has always carried more than beauty. It carries patience, labor, skill, observation, and transformation.
Silk Ling Shi is under SILK LING SHI Inc. Most of our finished products are made in New York City, with practical care given to construction, comfort, and finishing.
Some accessories may include necessary non-silk components, such as elastic, headband cores, clips, or embroidery threads. When relevant, we disclose these details clearly because we believe customers should understand what they are buying.
The silk fabric itself remains at the center of the piece.
Silk Ling Shi is not a mass-template silk brand. Each product direction begins with testing, observation, and use.
We study how the fabric gathers, folds, stretches, reflects light, holds shape, and feels against the skin or hair. These small details decide whether a silk fabric becomes a headband, a scrunchie, a pillowcase, a bow, or remains best as fabric.
Our goal is not to make silk feel distant or untouchable. Our goal is to make silk feel personal, useful, elegant, and understood.
Silk Ling Shi is part of a wider silk world created through years of fabric research, product development, photography, and documentation.
